The third egg in the pan

There's a new writing challenge at Frying an Egg, and I've kicked off with yet another tale of domestic triviality. It's interesting to wonder if this is result of the stimulus or if I simply don't get out enough - or read the right kind of lit these days. It's also interesting, once again, how much you have to chop to keep to the right word-count; I've gone slightly over this time but hope I'll be excused.

As a result, of course, the morning has passed without domesticity - other than ironing a king-sized duvet. I definitely need to get out more.

  1. Loved your entry, Chris!

I have always loved writing...embellished with lots of colorful adjectives and balanced with other references to stimulate the senses. Then, I married Mark. Do you have any idea how many times I was explaining or relating an incident that I was commanded to "just get to the point"??? Ugh! Then, to my hysterical delight, he would dial me up on the phone from work to inquire on the spelling of a word!!! Oh, how I would MILK that! He
went from his job as a trainer to a technical writer. (gasp!!!) The man who could not spell was now writing MANUALS!!!!! (for the process engineering industry!!!) It was during his time as a very valuable employee in this department that he assured me that "cut to the chase" writing was THE style!! Huh!!! I shall continue my own(lengthy...BORING...clutteredwithadjectives) style!
This said, you are amazing at expressing ideas with very few words...but then again, I do believe you are a true "wordsmith"!
