Extra-terrestrial highway
This is the road to Rachel, Nevada. We saw no aliens (explanations to follow) but found the most absolute silence - a silence so complete that it seemed to press upon the ears. Magic.
I loved the contrast - not only with the madness of The Strip, but also with the trees and green-ness of home. Even in our most deserted spots, there is never silence: birds, water, wind all contribute their sounds.
No noise, no life!!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to the southwestern US....farthest I have gone was Texas, and that was enough!
ReplyDeleteSilence that presses upon one's ears...great description! That is how it feels outside on a snowy silent night here in the Bristolwood!
Lovely photo, but give me snow and trees!!!!! Glad you saw no aliens, although methinks many Americans *might* fit that descript!!!! hahah!
